What?
Minecraft Cocoa is a fork of Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 created by alexchompski. The mod polishes and irons out all the annoyances and bugs (while of course keeping the funny bugs), with quality of life and gameplay features to give the game a bit of extra flavor, without overhauling the game. In shorter terms, a vision of what a complete version of "Golden Age Minecraft" would be like.
Why?
If you're unfamiliar, Beta 1.7.3 is a version of Minecraft that is seen as the last version before the game changed drastically. Many like the simple sandbox nature with limited blocks, vibrant and charming artstyle, lack of instrusive storytelling and structures and so on. I'm not going to further in depth but just know nostaliga has nothing to do with this. If you are familiar with retro-modding, you may know that there's a billion mods like these. Oh well!

In the rainforest...
Developing Beta 1.7.6! Added a new terrain feature, cacao fruits! These will generate in Rainforest biomes under oak trees. Break them and get cocoa beans. The mod is finally living up to it's name..
